EGX ends on mixed note, benchmark edges up 0.63%

The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices closed on a mixed note on Wednesday, while the market capitalisation gained nearly EGP 503.8 million.

The benchmark index EGX30 edged up 0.63% to 8,629.49 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 gained 0.42% to 487.56 points, while the broader EGX100 slipped 0.02% to 986.33 points.

Turnover amounted to EGP 389.9 million, while traded volume reached around 105.9 million shares sealed through 17,300 transactions.

Foreign traders were buyers by EGP 8.4 million, while local and Arab traders were sellers by EGP 3.5 million and EGP 4.9 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, retail traders were net sellers, while institutions were net buyers.

El Nasr for Manufacturing Agricultural Crops topped the gainers, surging 7.69% to close at EGP 22.68.

Wadi Kom Ombo led the losers, falling 9.22% to close at EGP 9.
