The MSCI will consult with investors about adding Saudi Arabia as an emerging market in June 2015, Reuters reported citing an MSCI official.
Saudi cabinet authorized the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to allow overseas financial institutions to trade equities on the Saudi bourse, and gave the regulator scope to determine timing.
The $531 billion market is currently limited to domestic investors and foreigners from the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council.
