Qatar’s Al Meera Consumer Goods Company has announced finalisng the refurbishment of its second branch Al Barka located in Al Bera district in the Sultanate of Oman.

Al Meera has turned the branch from a Supermarket to a Hypermarket including various fashion brands that meets the needs of all segments of society, according to its statement. The renovation of the second branch comes as part of Al Meera Oman and Al Meera Company’s strategic plan to strengthen Al Meera’s presence in the Qatari and regional markets, making use of all expansion opportunities in order to develop its assets and shareholders' equity.

Recently opened in September, Oman’s Al Barka mall covers a total store space of 6000 sq. m., and includes new shops and 4000 sq. m. for the Hypermarket.

Al Meera currently has five branches in the Sultanate, of which two are hypermarkets. Al Barka is the newest branch located near Al Barka roundabout on Sultan Qaboos highway, linking Muscat to its surroundings in the Sultanate.

The refurbishment of Al Barka branch comes as part of the continuous plans to develop the rest of Al Meera’s branches. The five stores are distributed both inside and outside the capital, Al Meera stated, adding that it expects to develop steadily in line with the Company’s aspirations to support an innovative shopping experience in the Sultanate.
