Oman October inflation stands at 1.02% - NCSI
The Sultanate of Oman reported an annual rate of inflation of 1.02% in October 2014, Muscat Daily reported, adding that prices rose by 0.12%.

Figures issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed a rise by 1.04% in the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages, while the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels segment was up by 0.24%. Moreover, education costs surged by 4.51%. Health costs and communications jumped by five percent and 5.02%, respectively.

Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance leaped by 6.03%, and hotel and restaurant costs inched up by 0.6%. Tobacco prices rose by 1.10% and miscellaneous goods and services recorded a marginal increase of 0.11%, recreation and culture added 0.02% and transport 0.51%.

Clothing and footwear costs recorded the only decline by 1.01%.

On the other hand, a month-on-month basis showed that the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels segment edged up by 0.02%, clothing and footwear costs increased by 0.75%, and furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance rose by 0.29%. Moreover, transport, health and education costs rose by 0.61%, 0.07%, and 5.5%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverage prices retreated by 0.53%, while communication costs inched down by 0.04%.
