Saudi top UAE non-oil trade partner in GCC, Oman second
Non-oil trade with Arab countries hit AED 35.9 billion during the first quarter of 2014, with imports contributing AED 11.9 billion, exports and re-exports AED 11.7 billion and AED 12.3 billion, respectively, revealed data from the Federal Customs Authority (FCA).

Moreover, the value of non-oil trade between the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) amounted to AED 22.9 billion in the first three months of 2014, with imports from the GCC amounting to AED 7.4 billion, whereas exports and re-exports totaled at AED 15.4 billion.

Saudi Arabia ranked first as the UAE’s largest non-oil trade partner in the Middle East, with UAE-Saudi non-oil trade totaling AED 8.3 billion and accounting for 36.2% of the UAE’s total trade with GCC countries.

Oman came in as the UAE’s second-largest trade partner in the GCC region with AED six billion or 24.6% of Gulf trade, followed by Kuwait and Qatar, both of which were valued at AED 3.2 billion, FCA data added, concluding that Bahrain came in last with AED 2.2 billion, amounting to 9.4% of trade.
