Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) fell 0.12%, or 11.19 points, to close at 9607 pts.

More than 347.6 million shares changed hands through over 172 thousand transactions at a turnover topping SAR 10 billion.

Talal Al-Hathal, Senior Technical Analyst at Al-Istithmar Capital, told Mubasher that the index has gained 1.4% since the beginning of April due to the improved corporate financial results in Q1-14, with the combined earnings rising 11%.

Al-Hathal expected the market to see slight speculations until the companies release Q2 financials amid lack of catalysts.

Sector roundup

Seven sectors headed south, led by Telecommunications which dipped 2.03% and Agriculture which fell 0.56%.

Meanwhile, eight sectors headed north, spearheaded by Insurance and Transport which rose 2.27% and 2.02% respectively.

Stock performance

Gainers outnumbered losers by 90 to 50, while the remaining stocks kept flat.

Al Alamiya was the top advancer, rocketing 9.88%, followed by Saudi Paper (+9.52%) and Enaya (+8.76%).

On the black side, STC recorded the biggest decline, falling 4.77%, followed by Al-Babtin (-3.38%) and Wafa Insurance (-2.90%).

Dar Al-Arkan was the most active by trading volume and turnover, after 35.96 million shares were exchanged at a total value of SAR 464.6 million.
