Saudi insurers increase premiums
Saudi insurance firms have raised their health insurance premiums after the health insurance regulator proposed raising the upper limit of coverage in the country by 100%, Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported citing an official source.
He added that the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) had submitted a policy paper calling for the upper limit for health insurance coverage in the Kingdom to be raised from SAR 250,000 ($67,000) to SAR 500,000 ($133,000).
The recommendations are now in the process of being implemented, and would be effective from the beginning of August, according to the source.
