Jeddah to undertake $266.5m roads project
Jeddah municipality will build five new intersections on Prince Majed Road at a cost of $266.5 million (SAR 1 billion) in a bid to ease traffic congestion, according to the Construction Week Online wesbite.
Spokesman of Jeddah municipality Mohamed Al-Buqami said the intersections would extend down to the corniche.
Contractors will start the projects in the next few weeks.
The intersections would link with Old Makkah Road, Al-Falah Bridge, Television Street, King Faisal Street, South Corniche and then Al-Khamra. It would take the form of a ring road and run parallel to Al-Haramain Road, Al-Buqami said.
