Saudi bourse recoups 45% of last week’s losses
Saudi Arabia’s bourse ended in the green for the third consecutive session, climbing 2.57% or 254.10 points to 10136.46 pts compared with 9882.36 pts on Monday.
Accordingly, the gauge returned to close above the 10000 level after giving it up for four straight sessions.
The market gained 588.92 pts this week, representing 45% of the 1303.9 pt loss it incurred last week.
The market capitalization rose 6.1% (SAR 118.45 billion) this week to reach SAR 2.06 trillion, compared with SAR 1.94 trillion a week earlier. Tadawul lost SAR 268.9 billion of its market capitalization last week.
Sectors collectively up
Sectors collectively rose on Tuesday, spearheaded by the insurance leapt 4.1%. Petrochemical industries had the second-best showing, rising 3.76%.
Nine stocks in red
154 stocks headed north, topped by Wafra and Sharqiya Development which rocketed 9.95% and 9.72%, respectively.
Meanwhile, only nine stocks headed south, led by AXA Cooperative and Gulf General which dropped 4.37% and 1.9%, consecutively.
Turnover increased 20.06% to SAR 9.28 billion, compared with SAR 7.7 billion on Monday. Trading volume grew 17.51% from 248.85 million shares to 295.87 million shares.
Alinma Bank was the most active with trading volume and value, after 34.67 million shares changed hands at SAR 830.2 million.
