Saudi bourse slips to 9081; sectors in red
The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday’s session on a down note, losing 1.65% or 152.76 points to 9081 points.
Traded volume reached more than 252 million shares, turnover amounted to above SAR 8 billion and number of transactions exceeded 144 thousand.
Sectors collectively headed south, led by insurance (-2.78%), followed by multi-investment (-2.62%), construction and building (-2.54%) and hotels and tourism (-2.29%).
20 stocks headed north, topped by Wafa Insurance (+9.85%), then AXA Cooperative (+4.52%) and Buruj Insurance (+4.08%).
Meanwhile, 136 stocks headed south, led by Al Khodari (-9.95%). Medgulf took the second position (-9.92%), followed by Tawuniya (-6.50%).
Alinma Bank was the top active with turnover reaching SAR 835.486 million. It was followed by SABIC with SAR 601.767 million and SAFCO with SAR 483.091 million.
Alinma Bank was also the most active in terms of traded volume, with 37.350 million shares.
It was followed by Dar Al Arkan with 26.251 million shares and Solidarity with 12.620 million shares.
