Saudi November cement sales rise most since May

Riyadh-Mubasher Exclusive: Sales of Saudi cement companies during November have increased by 39.4% to 5.1 million ton, compared with 3.65 million ton in the same period a year earlier.
Thus, the total sales recorded in November are the biggest since May, as they fell in October by 4%.
Meanwhile, sales of cement companies during the first eleven months of 2014 rose 1.5% to 51.59 million ton from 50.93 million ton in the year-ago period.
Sales were backed by the increase in production of those companies during the same month by 32.46% to 4.95 million ton, compared with 3.74 million ton in November, 2013, according to statistics of Yamama Cement.
Meanwhile, data compiled by Mubasher that showed cement companies recorded a production increase for the fourth successive month, following a decrease seen in the previous nine months.
Inventory in those companies totaled 1004 thousand ton, representing a rise by 0.9% from 955 thousand ton.
Clinker production also fell in November by 0.67% to 4.72 million ton, from 4.75 million ton in the same month in 2013. Clinker sales surged by 202% to 151 thousand ton from 50 thousand ton.
Clinker inventory increased to 21.4 million ton; thus continuing its rise for the eighteenth successive month, after it fell by 2.3% in May, 2013.
