The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended Thursday, the last trading session of the week, in the red, falling for the third successive session. The market’s benchmark index DFMGI retreated by 4.95% or 222.32 pts to 4270.43 pts.
Turnover was seen at AED 1.8 billion as 702.4 million shares were traded through the execution of 13615 transactions.
Market sectors were mostly on the decline, as the services sector topped losers, dropping 7.14%, followed by the investment, real estate and banking sectors, which fell 5.77%, 5.22% and 5.08%, respectively.
Gulfa Mineral Water and Processing Industries topped the two gainers, surging by 14.74%, while National General Insurance Co. (NGI) inched up by 0.28%.
On the other hand, Ekttitab led decliners, after falling 9.24%, followed by SHUAA Capital and Dar Takaful, which lost 9.10% and 9.07%, respectively.
A total of 34 companies traded, of which 31 were in the red, 2 gained and one remained unchanged.
