European equities closed Friday on a mixed note, as investors focused on a central banking forum in Portugal and a speech from U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen.
The FTSEurofirst 300 Index declined 0.12% to 1,617.91 points.
The German DAX ended 0.42% lower at 11,815.01 points, and the French CAC was down 0.07%.
Meanwhile, the UK's benchmark FTSE 100 rose 0.26% to 7,031.72, boosted by Vodafone which gained 4.6%.
