TAQA Arabia to build solar power plant in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: TAQA Arabia signed an agreement to set up a solar power plant with a capacity of 50 MW, over a 1 km area in the Upper Egyptian city of Aswan.

The signing came during the Energy and Future of Investment in Egypt conference, organised by Business News Foundation and held at the Intercontinental – City Stars Hotel in Cairo on Monday.

The agreement signing was witnessed by investment minister Ashraf Salman, as well as Mohamed Salah El-Sobky, head of the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), and Khaled Abu Bakr, chairman of TAQA Arabia.

The conference reviews the effects of the energy crisis on the production sectors and its impact on high-consumption industries.
