Cairo-Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed in the red on Tuesday, with the market capitalisation losing EGP 3.2 billion.
The benchmark index EGX30 retreated by 0.83% or 75.44 points to close below the 9,000 level at 8,975.32 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 declined by 0.23% to 483.17 points, while the broader EGX100 fell by 0.78% to 1,001.11 points.
Turnover reached EGP 568.9 million, after around 181.6 million shares changed hands.
Arab and foreign investors were net sellers for EGP 18.2 million and EGP 42.5 million, respectively, while nationals recorded a buy/sell difference of EGP 60.7 million.
Out of the 175 stocks traded today, decliners eclipsed advancers 84 to 53, while 38 stocks kept flat.
