Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange management Monday suspended trading on 12 stocks for half an hour due to a slump by more than 5%.
Trading was suspended on Arab Cotton Ginning, EFG-Hermes, Ezz Steel, Palm Hills, Madinet Nasr Housing, Arab Moltaqa, Unipack, Egyptian Starch, Golden Coast, Gulf Canadian, El Wadi Touristic and Arab Valves.
Meanwhile, EGX indices tumbled in Monday’s early trading, hurt by foreign institutions’ sell-offs.
Foreign institutions were net sellers by EGP 8.34 million, while national and Arab institutions were net buyers by EGP 8.23 million and EGP 110,779 in a row.
The benchmark index EGX30 lost 1.65% or 7.24 points to reach 431.27 points, while EGX70 fell by 1.65% to 431.27 points and the broader index EGX100 sagged 1.72% or 15.98 points to 912.70 points.
