Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) stated Monday the fund has taken note of Sunday’s referendum held in Greece.

“We are monitoring the situation closely and stand ready to assist Greece if requested to do so,” she said.

Meanwhile, The European Central Bank (CBE) said late Monday it kept Emergency Liquidity Assistance (ELA) steady for Greek banks.

"The Governing Council of the European Central Bank decided today to maintain the provision of ELA to Greek banks at the level decided on 26 June 2015 after discussing a proposal from the Bank of Greece," the ECB said in a statement.

Greece voted Sunday against accepting bailout conditions from the country's so-called "troika" of lenders in return for unblocking desperately needed credit.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that a "no" vote will put the Greeks in a stronger position.
