Bahrain bourse slips, extends 7-day bear run

Manama – Mubasher: Bahrain Bourse’s (BHB) All Share Index slid on Thursday, continuing a decline to the seventh successive day.

The index slid 0.08% or 1.1 points to close at 1334.54 points.

Insurance sector was the biggest loser, with a drop of 3.15%, hurt by Bahrain Kuwait Insurance that tumbled 9.52% to lead the worst performing stocks. ARIG also went down 2%.

The industrial sector came second with a drop of 0.4%, after Alba fell by the same rate to BHD 0.498.

The investment sector shut 0.21% lower, pressured by Al-Baraka Group that lost 1.45%.

On the positive front, the banks sector shut solely in green, with a rise of 0.28%, backed by AUB that gained 0.71% following news it made one-off profits from selling a property in London.

Thursday’s traded volume amounted to 1.45 million shares, up from 474,000 shares exchanged on Wednesday. Turnover also jumped to BHD 563,600, from BHD 72,700.
