Egypt equities shed EGP 1.7 bln , EGX hits two-week low

Cairo – Mubasher:The Egyptian Exchange(EGX)indices reiterated collectively on Monday, while the market capitalisation shed nearly EGP 1.7 billion on selling pressures from local and Arab institutions.

The benchmark EGX30 hit two-week low as it lost 1.46% or 116.96 points to 7887.87 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 also went down 1.43% to close at 440.08 points and the broader index EGX100 slid 0.77% to 910.37 points.

Monday’s turnover amounted to EGP 409.7 million, upon trading approx. 176.8 million shares.

National and Arab traders were net sellers by EGP 16.9 million and EGP 3.8 million, while foreign traders were net buyers by EGP 20.7 million.

Out of the 162 companies traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 106 to 28, while 28 other remained unchanged.
