Riyadh-Mubasher: Eastern Province Cement recorded net earnings of SAR 93 million in the second quarter ended 30 June, rising 13.41% compared with SAR 82 million a year earlier.

H1 net profits fell 25.21% year-on-year from SAR 238 million to SAR 178 million.

The cement producer said the second-quarter profit growth was mainly due to a rise in sold cement quantifies, and the profit decline was due to the earnings of available-for-sale investments in the same period of 2014 as well as the losses of an associate firm.
