QSE ends week in red on all-sector decline

Doha-Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed at a decline this week as all sectors headed south, led by telecom.

QE index lost 1.33% or 159.40 points to 11,785.22 points this week, compared to 11,944.62 points a week earlier.

QE All Share index fell 1.31% to reach 3,158.21 points, whereas Al Rayan Islamic index levelled down 1.39% to 4,612.87 points

The Qatari market traced GCC peers that were pressured by a fall in oil prices to $52 per barrel.

The market is unstable, as it broke the bottom of a short-term sideways movement between 12,200 and 11,800, market analyst Mohamed Sonbol said, adding that the nearest support level stands at 11,500 points.

Trading volume reached 23.21 million shares exchanged through 29,763 transactions, with a turnover of QAR 1.012 billion.

The telecom sector led losers as it fell 3.01%, followed by the consumer goods and services (-2.70%), real estate (-2.21%), insurance (-2.14%), industrials (-1.32%), banks and financial services (-0.54%) and consumer goods and services (-0.31%).

Ahli Bank topped gainers after adding 5.32%, while National Leasing Holding was the worst performer after losing 8.59%.
