Saudi Tadawul loses 9 pts; Jarir extends bear run

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Thursday’s session on a down note, shedding 0.10% or 9.12 points to 9,098.

Traded volume exceeded 147 million shares, exchanged in above 83,900 transactions at turnover of above SAR 4 billion.

Jarir stock extended a losing run to the sixth successive session, closing at its lowest level since April.

Seven sectors moved higher, topped by energy and utilities (+0.46%), then real estate development (+0.42%) and agriculture and food industries (+0.38%). Meanwhile, the eight other sectors moved lower, led by telecommunications (-1.96%), then hotel and tourism (-1.77%) and retail (-1.25%).

As for stocks, 38 were in green, while 115 others were in red.

Saudi Pipe was the best performer with a jump of 4.37%. It was followed by Tawuniya that rose 3.90%, then SISCO that rose 2.99%.

On the negative front, Malath Insurance was the biggest drag, with a plunge of 9.84%. It was followed by Walaa that went down 5.54%, then STC that lost 4.51%.

Giant petrochemical producer SABIC came on top with turnover reaching SAR 565.95 million, while Zain KSA recorded the biggest traded volume of 25.257 million shares.
