Investment in deposits, investment certificates reaches EGP 4bn – EFSA

Cairo-Mubasher: The Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) registered 10 private insurance funds until the end of June 2015, amended the articles of association of 85 funds and delisted 7 funds, said Chairman Sherif Samy.

He added that EFSA gave the go-ahead for investing nearly EGP 4.2 billion in the private insurance funds during the first half of the year, including investment certificates, deposits, bonds and treasury bills.       

The new and effective life insurance premiums amounted to EGP 47.4 billion since the beginning of 2015 and until the end of May 2015, rising 6.23% compared with EGP 6.3 billion in the year-earlier period.

The new and renewed property insurance issuances rose 2.3% year-on-year from EGP 5.2 billion to EGP 6.2 billion.
