ADX tumbles to 11-day low on all-sector decline

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Sunday’s session on a down note, falling to its lowest level in 11 days after all sectors moved to the red zone mainly energy and real estate.

The benchmark index ADI lost 0.9% or 43.28 points to close at 4790.94 points.

Sunday’s traded volume fell to 159.08 million shares, from 181.7 million shares, while turnover retreated to AED 205.43 million from AED 237.65 million.

The energy sector fell by 2.74%, as it was weighed by Dana Gas that shed 3.64%. The real estate sector also went down by 2.18% hurt by Aldar and Eshraq that lost 2.23% and 1.27% in a row.

The banks sector fell by 0.94%, after FGB and ADCB lost 1.61% and 1.57% respectively.

Four stocks were in green, topped by UNB that rose 1.82%. Meanwhile, Methaq led decliners, with a plunge of 9.52%.

The real estate sector was the top active with turnover of around AED 127.7 million, following buoyant trading activity on Eshraq with around AED 61.5 million generated from exchanging 75.8 million shares.
