Dubai-Mubasher: Crude oil prices reached their highest levels in two weeks, after slumping to their lowest since 2009.

Crude oil prices rose for the second straight day, increasing by $6.31 to $45.25 a barrel.

In addition, Brent prices increased by $5 to $49.91 a barrel, their highest in more than two weeks, boosted by dollar rise.

The rise in oil prices was also due to stability in stock markets after their steep decline early last week. In addition, the prices were enhanced by the procedures taken by China's central bank to stop the sharp decline in the exchange.

China's government announced purchasing stocks worth more than $400 billion.
