Muscat-Mubasher: Oman’s inflation rose 0.46% in July 2015, compared to figures from the same month of 2014, according to the state statistics agency.

The year-on-year rise was supported by a change in prices of baskets, including food and non-alcoholic beverages that grew by 0.97%, hotels and restaurants (+0.77%), transports (+0.49%), and housing, water, electricity, gas and other (+0.44%).

Oman’s national center for statistics and information added that the costs of clothing and footwear shrank by 2.02%, followed by miscellaneous goods and services 0.19%, and telecom which narrowed 0.19% and 0.15%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the general consumer price index added 0.53% month-on-month in July 2015, according to a report.
