Cairo – Mubasher: Orascom Construction Ltd posted $44.7 million in consolidated net profit for the first half of 2015, while its second-quarter earnings amounted to $35.2 million, the company said in a bourse filing Monday.

Unaudited standalone financial statements showed $3.1 million net profit for the six-month period and $1.3 million in the second quarter.

The company’s EBITDA amounted to approx. $101.4 million in H1-15, of which $63.5 million and $38 million belong to the first and second quarters respectively.

The rise in the group’s EBITDA margin during the second quarter reflects focus on boosting results across the region, in addition to launching new projects, said CEO Osama Beshay.

OC, which is listed on Egypt’s bourse and NASDAQ Dubai, achieved a 51% rise in project backlog to $7.2 billion.
