QSE falls 2.9% in August

Doha-Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange lost 1.88% or 221.66 points to reach 11,563.56 points in August when compared to figures from July.

Al Rayan Islamic index fell 4.13% to reach 4,422.32 points, whereas QE All Share index retreated 2.71% to stand at 3,072.76 points.

The real estate sector was the only gainer after rising 0.31%, while the telecom sector led losers after falling 12.66%.

The market saw trading of 152.91 million shares through 100,900 transactions, with turnover of QAR 6.75 billion.

Ezdan Holding Group was the best performer after growing 8.21%, while Dlala Brokerage and Investment Holding topped decliners by 23.37%.

Ezdan was the most active company with trading volume reaching 26.42 million shares, while Commercial Bank of Qatar was the value leader, upon generating QAR 911 million.
