Dubai – Mubasher: The Eurozone's current-account surplus came ahead of expectations in July, data from the European Central Bank showed Friday.

The current-account balance, a broad measure of an economy's international financial position, showed a surplus of EUR 22.6 billion ($25.85 billion) in July, versus EUR24.9 billion in June.

Cumulated figures for the 12 months ending in July showed the surplus at 2.6% of gross domestic product, compared with 1.8% one year earlier.
