Dubai-Mubasher: U.S. dollar rose to a record level on Wednesday after the latest statement of Federal Reserve Chairperson Janet Yellen.

“Low interest rates helped offer millions of jobs through reducing the lending costs for corporate borrows and consumers,” Yellen said, defending the near-zero interest rate.

Dollar rose nearly 0.40% against a basket of currencies to reach $100.08; its highest since 3 August.
