Egypt's bourse edges lower in early trade

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices edged down on Thursday's early trade, as the benchmark index EGX30 fell 0.03% to 6,389 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 inched down 0.11% to 350.7 points; while the broader index EGX100 declined 0.05% to 744.8 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 eased 0.13% to 1,095 points.

The heavy weight Commercial International Bank went up 0.57% to EGP 42.7.

Tracking stock performance, the stocks of Golden Textiles, Orascom Telecom Media, Egyptian Starch and National Real Estate Bank went down 1.5% to 6.3%.

On the other hand, advancing stocks were led by Sabaa Pharmaceutical, Naeem Holding, Sheeni, Cairo Poultry and Misr Chemical Industries surged 1.08% to 10%.

The market turnover reached EGP 48.6 million, in early trade, amid the decline of 24 stocks and the rise of 13 stocks.
