Industrial companies' earnings dropped by 4.6% year-on-year in October.

The Shanghai Composite Index fell 5.5% to 3,436.30, the largest daily percentage loss since 18 August.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 1.87% or 421 points to 22086.
