Doha-Mubasher: The Central Bank of Qatar (CBQ) will issue treasury bills worth QAR 4 billion on 1 December, Al-Sharq newspaper reported.

Treasury bills worth SAR 2 billion will be issued with a maturity period of three months ending 1 March 2016. Meanwhile, the CBQ will issue T-bills worth SAR 1 billion with a maturity period of six months ending 2 June 2016.  T-bills worth SAR 1 billion will be offered with a maturity period of nine months ended 1 September 2016.       

Thus, the value of treasury bills will total QAR 48 billion at the end of this year,

The issue is likely to see an overwhelming response from local banks, given that it is a free-risk investment, experts said, adding that the banks have enough liquidity to buy treasury bills.
