Cairo – Mubasher: The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and India reached around $5 billion in 2014 and is expected to reach $8 billion by 2017, said Noha Ahmed, senior secretary at Egypt's commercial representation office.

Egypt's exports to India reached around $1 billion, down 20% compared with 2013, according to the official.

For his part, Hussein Sabbour, head of Egyptian Businessmen Association stated that his country has laid down an investment agenda for Suez Canal Axis.

The statements came during the one-day event held by the association on Wednesday, during which it received representatives of fifteen Indian companies as part of a trade delegation currently in a visit to Cairo.
