Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened on a positive note on Sunday, as the benchmark index went up 0.63% to 6,468 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 inched up 0.32% to 351.5 points.The broader index EGX100 edged up 0.22% to 746.8 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 gained 0.19% to 1,103 points.

The heavy weight Commercial International Bank went up 2% to EGP 43.8 with 90,500 shares worth more than EGP 3.9 million changed hands.

The market turnover reached EGP 27.5 million, in early trade, as 25 million shares were exchanged through 1,400 transactions.

Tracking stock performance, Sabaa Pharmaceutical, Gulf Canadian Real Estate, Canal Shipping Agencies went up 5%, 4.8% and 4%, respectively.
