Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on Sunday dropped by 1.12% or 47.12 points to 4,172.74 points.

Trading volume reached 113.62 million shares traded, versus 54.40 million shares exchanged on Thursday, while trading value shrank to AED 191.12 million, against AED 320.5 million reached in the previous session.

Analysts suggested, in statements to Mubasher, that United Arab Emirates stock markets are suffering from lack of catalysts in the current period, which gave speculators the chance to take control of the bourses, something that reflected negatively on liquidity.

ADX Telecommunication sector logged the deepest losses with 2.6% down. The real estate and banking sectors also fell by 2.26% and 0.99%, respectively, as Al Dar was lost 2.9%, Manazil (-1.75%) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (-6.01%).

The energy sector managed to escape the red zone with 14.41% up, after the high performance of Dana Gas. The consuming goods and services sectors also moved up 2.04% and 1.54%.
