Dubai – Mubasher: UAE’s Al Habtoor Group is intending to expand its international portfolio, with more focus on Europe and the local market, said CEO Mohamed Al Habtoor.

The group is currently building the first five-star polo resort in Dubai Land, themed Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, which will include a second St. Regis hotel. It is also set to construct a new metropolitan hotel in Sheikh Zayed Road.

During a meeting with a Swiss banking services group, Al Habtoor reviewed possible investment opportunities locally and globally.

Al Habtoor said it owns five overseas hotels; two in Beirut, two in Budapest and one in the U.S.

The UAE group has witness rapid growth in its hospitality segment in recent years; it has lately opened St. Regis Dubai Habtoor City hotel, while W Dubai – Al Haboor City and Westin Dubai – Habtoor City early next year.
