Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s (ASE) main index closed Sunday at 1,993.72 points, after dropping by 0.34% or 6.78 points.

Trading value rose to JOD 6.9 million, versus JOD 4.5 million in the previous session. Trading volume also increased to 6.3 million shares exchanged in 2,350 shares.

The industrial sector plummeted by 1.81%, followed by the financial sector with 0.1% down, while services moved 0.16% up.

The index was negatively affected by the low prices of 41 shares, out of 122 companies, while 30 others leapt by the end of the session.

Al-eqbal Investment Company topped the gainers after rising by 5.83%, followed by Al-amal Financial Investments Company with 5% up.

Meanwhile, Universal Chemical Industries led the decliners with 5% down, followed by Jordan Poultry Processing and Marketing which fell 4.84%.

ASE benchmark index closed Thursday with a rise of 0.12% or 2.35 points to 2,000.5 points.
