Egypt's bourse ends in green zone; benchmark adds 68.23 pts

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended on positive on Tuesday, as the benchmark index EGX30 gained 68.23 points or 1.07% to close at 6,424.88 points.

The benchmark succeeded in moving above the level of 6,400 points, on news about a prospective buy offer over Global Telecom.

Egyptian Financial Supervisory (EFSA) does not have any information regarding Global Telecom, said Sherif Samy, EFSA chairman in exclusive statement to Mubasher.

Global Telecom's stocks surged 10% to EGP 1.76 on trading 12.8 million shares worth more than EGP 21.8 million, through 627 transactions.

The heavy weight Commercial International Bank advanced 2.21% to EGP 43.99, with 1.2 million shares changed hands worth EGP 53.4 million through 659 transactions.

The market capitalisation gained EGP 2.22 billion ($283.5 million),  triggered by local buying, to reach EGP 415.2 billion up from EGP 413 billion in the previous session.
