Mubasher: European shares opened Monday on a mixed note amid disappointing economic data for Japan and China.
The Markit/Nikkei Final Japan Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) declined to 52.3 in January on a seasonally adjusted basis, slightly less than a preliminary reading of 52.4 and a final 52.6 in December.
China's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) stood at 49.4 in January, compared to the previous month's reading of 49.7.
UK's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.07% to 6088 points, and Spain's IBEX 35 edged up 0.09% to 8824.
STOXX 600 Index also gained 0.21% to 343, while German's DAX dropped 0.07% to 9791.
France's CAC edged down 0.27% to 4405, and Italy's FTSEMIB fell 0.24% to 18613.
