EGX moves lower 1.2% on leading stocks’ losses

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices closed on mixed note on Sunday, as the benchmark index EGX30 fell 1.2% or 75.7 points to close at 6,126 points.

On other the hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 inched up 0.8% to 352.3 points.

The broader index EGX100 edged up 0.1% to 709 points, while the equal weighed index EGX50 added 1.4% to 1,100 points.

The market capitalisation shed EGP 2.4 billion, reaching EGP 398.3 billion.

Tracking stock performance, the heavy weights Commercial International Bank, Orascom Telecom Media, Talaat Moustafa Group and Qalaa Holdings advanced by 0.65%, 5%, 1.7% and 1.5% respectively .

The market trading value reached EGP 241.1 million.

Out of 151 companies traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 98 to 20, while 33 stocks remained unchanged.

Arab and foreign investors came as net sellers with EGP 20.2 million and EGP 3.9 million respectively, while local investors came as net buyers with EGP 24.1 million.
