DFM resumes gains on real estate, banks stocks

Dubai-Mubasher:  Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed in the green for the second session in a row, backed by the real estate and banks sectors.

The DFMGI rose 1.89% or 57.45 points to reach 3,094.78 points, moving above the 3,000-point level.

Turnover rose to AED 616.2 million ($167.77 million) on Monday, compared to AED 283.95 million ($77.29 million) on Sunday. Trading volume increased to 423.24 million shares from 189.74 million shares.

The real estate sector added 2.53%, backed by Emaar Properties and Arabtec Holding which gained 3.12% and 0.87%, respectively.

The banks sector advanced 2.15%, buoyed up by Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD and Amlak Finance as they rose 2.05%, 3.3% and 1.57% in a row

On the flipside, the telecom and investment sectors declined 0.5% and 0.18% in a row, pressured by the losses of du, Dubai Investments and DFM Company.
