Kuwait-Mubasher: Zain Group said in a statement that a hearing of a complaint filed against it by the CEO of Iraqi Communications and Media Commission (CMA) has been scheduled for 13 April.

The hearing committee is set up by the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission, the complainer, according to Zain’s statement.  The CEO’s complaint claims a fine worth $100 million from Zain Iraq, the statement added.

Zain’s statement also showed that CMC had put forward the same claim three times before, but was met with rejection by the appeal council also affiliated to CMC.

CMC says it is an independent authority that does not associate to any other governmental entity. It aims to regulate and develop the media and telecommunications sectors in Iraq under the modern international criteria, according to its website.

Zain’s stock started Monday’s session at 350 fils, after about 196,800 shares were exchanged with a value of nearly KWD 68,900.
