Kuwaiti bourse strengthens on real estate, industrial

Kuwait – Mubasher: Kuwait Stock Exchange indices rose on Sunday, backed mainly by stronger real estate and industrial stocks.

The price index shut 0.48% or 25.43 points higher at 5,372.38 points. The weighted index also rose 0.48% or 1.75 points to 365.43 points. KSX-15 pulled ahead by 0.65% or 5.58 points to 860.94 points.

Today’s turnover shrank 10.6% to KWD 12.66 million, from KWD 14.16 million. Meanwhile, traded volume increased by 2.1% to 160.83 million shares, from 157.46 million shares.

The real estate sector was the top gainer, with a 1.2% rise, propelled by First Dubai that was the best performing stock with a jump of 9.26%.

The industrial sector was the third biggest gainer, with 0.9% growth, after Human Soft rose by 6.85%.

On the flipside, insurance was the biggest drag, falling 1.14% pressured mainly by Kuwait Insurance that slipped by 5%.

KAMCO was the worst performing stock, 5.88% or 6 fils down at 96 fils.

Almadina was the top active, with a traded volume reaching 11.49 million shares, while KFH recorded the biggest traded value of KWD 1.12%.
