Tadawul continues downward trend for 4th day in row

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Tuesday’s trading on a negative note as the main index extended its losses for the fourth session in a row after falling 1.17% or 78.34 points to the level of 6,638.15 points.

Turnover increased to SAR 6.4 billion from SAR 5.97 billion on Monday, Trading volume also rose to 383.6 million shares from 334.4 million shares.

Alinma Bank made the highest trading activity with a volume of 62.58 million shares exchanged at SAR 876.8 million. The stock closed 1.84% down to SAR 13.90.

The energy sector fell 1.93% as Saudi Electricity and Gasco shrank 2.09% and 0.22% respectively.

The petrochemical industries sector slid 1.6%, affected by the drop in SAPIC and SAFCO by 2.2% and 1.1% respectively.

The banks sector also declined by 1.18% as Al Rajhi Bank and National Commercial Bank – Saudi slipped 1.9% and 0.02% respectively.

On the other hand, the telecom sector rose alone by 0.48% thanks to a rise of 1.77% in STC.

The bourse’s main index closed yesterday with a fall of 0.56%.
