Cairo bourse retreats; EGX30 loses most in 3M

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange finished Tuesday's trading session in the negative territory.

The benchmark has lost most since the eleventh of November, registering 3.11% lower to 7,531.59 points.   

Market capitalization shed EGP9.39 billion to reach EGP403.956 billion against EGP413.347 billion on Thursday.

The largest EGX30 constituent, CIB, fell 3.94% and registered the highest trading value with EGP161.57 million after 3.66 million shares were traded at EGP43.40 each.

Nationals were net sellers by 108.7 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP82.2 million and EGP26.5 million respectively.

With 231.9 million shares changing hands, trading value reached EGP696.67 million.

The small and mid-cap EGX70 declined by 1.76% to 367.72 points. The broader index EGX100 closed 2.15% lower to 772.97 points. The equal-weighted EGX50 slipped by 3.05% to 1400.24 points.

The top losers were Beltone Financial, Minapharm, and Pioneers with a decline of 8.75%, 7.67%, and 4.04% respectively.

Meanwhile, the top gainers were Extracted Oils, Arab Pharmaceuticals, and Egyptian Starch & Glucose       after rising by 8.75%, 7.67%, and 4.04%
