Kuwait-Mubasher: The price index of Kuwait’s stock market ended the week at 5,373.2 points, after falling 0.35% or 18.6 points.

Both the weighted and KSX 15 indices fell 1% and 1.15% respectively by the week ended 4 May.

Liquidity declined to KWD 64.5 million as trading volume decreased to 498.82 million shares.

The market is still in a period that marks a short-term correction movement which started in February while deep-pocketed buyers are absent, said capital market analyst Mohamed Sonbol.

During the week, the oil and gas sector retreated 21.7%, consumer goods fell by 9.3%, and basic materials levelled down 9.09%.

The Kuwait Stock Exchange will be closed on Thursday, on the occasion of Isra and Mi'raj holiday.
