Doha – Mubasher: Credit ratings agency Moody's on Saturday affirmed its rating for Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) at 'A2' with a 'stable' outlook, the bank said in a statement.

Moody’s affirmation was based on many considerations including the fact that QIIB is one of the oldest Islamic banks in Qatar. In addition, the bank provides distinguished services, particularly in retail banking.

QIIB maintains good liquidity position, high quality assets that exceed $11 billion as well as a strong capital and profitability, the bank revealed in its statement, citing Moody's.

In April, Fitch also affirmed its 'A+' rating for the Qatari bank and said that its outlook was 'stable', whereas Capital Intelligence maintained its rating at 'A-' and gave a 'positive' outlook.

Qatar Holding, the investment arm of the Qatari government, holds a 17% stake in QIIB.
