Jafza, China trade hits AED 46.4bn in 2015

Dubai – Mubasher: Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) is the largest trading partner with China, having reached AED 46.4 billion worth of trade in 2015, said a statement released Friday.

The statement released ahead of a five-day Jafza roadshow in China highlighted that event activities aim "to introduce Jafza’s investment opportunities to Chinese business entities wishing to expand their operations and presence in the Middle East using Jafza."

The event will be held between 16-20 May and will cover two leading commerce and manufacturing centers of China, namely Shenzhen‎ and Qingdao.

Commenting on the upcoming event and the financial data, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DP World Group chairman and CEO, chairman of the Ports, Customs ‎and Free Zone Corporation‎, noted that the UAE has been one of China’s biggest export markets in the MENA region for many years.

He added that Jafza "plays a crucial role in re-exporting Chinese goods and products to different countries throughout the world," according to the statement.
