Riyadh-Mubasher: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) seeks to establish multi-national corporations in the 57 member states, secretary general Iyad Madani said.

This step is in line with the efforts of OIC’s major companies to expand halal trade in global markets, Madani said, adding that investments in the halal market exceed $3 billion.

Multinational companies operate in many fields, most notably medical products trade, which will double in cooperation with OIC members, Madani told Mubasher on the sidelines of the 15th Exhibition for the Members of the OIC held in Riyadh on Sunday.

Madani called on the private sector to play a bigger role in the coming period, amid growing activity in the global economy.

He also highlighted the importance of integration among sectors especially in Islamic nations so as to face competition from other major firms.
